We have again planned a family fun picnic for you at Paradise Lost, Kiambu. This beautifully manicured park is a perfect place to be in nature, away from Nairobi's hustle and bustle. Here, you can stroll around the park grounds, explore a cave and waterfall, have a lakeside picnic, go zip-lining and quad-biking, and enjoy a boat or horseback ride. Plus, there will be many craft things for the kids. We have organized a live pizza counter for our members; however, we encourage members to bring some food to share for the feel of a picnic potluck.

ACTIVITIES
Artists will use recycled materials like glass shards, bottles, and plastics to make art. We encourage kids and adults to make items like mosaics, simple chimes, strands, and beads work and also learn a few tips about upcycling crafts. Paid by UNKLESA.

Join our member Manar for an opportunity to learn how to prepare Koshary, Egypt's national dish, and widely popular street food. This traditional staple is a mix of pasta, Egyptian fried rice, vermicelli, and brown lentils topped with chickpeas, a garlicky tomato sauce, garlic vinegar, and crispy fried onions. Manar will also prepare Basbousa, a sweet, syrup-soaked semolina cake typically associated with Egyptian cuisine.

Macrame has been a popular craft for centuries. It is done by hand, without any tools, and can be used to create textiles and various decorative objects.

Session Content:

1. Introduction to the different macrame knots like Lark Head Knot, Square Knot, Half Square Knot, and Gathering Knot.

2. Using these knots, we can do key chains, bookmarks, or pot hangers.

UNKLESA will provide all the materials for the session as well as light refreshments.

Hewotte is working towards changing the narrative around birth by using her skills to make the experience more empowering, strengthening individuals and families.

Join us on this exciting day trip to the lush green country environment of Karunguru, dotted with scenic hills, smooth valley and fresh country air, located just 35 minutes from Nairobi's city center. Experience the magic of Kenyan coffee from crop to cup at Karunguru Coffee Estate. The estate's knowledgeable guides will lead you on a 10,000-step journey from the coffee fields to the liquoring room, where you'll learn about the art of coffee tasting. 

The coffee estate tour includes:

1. Welcome with a short introduction to the process of coffee making.

2. A coffee-tasting experience in the estate's lush gardens.

3. A tour around the farm, where you will observe all stages of the coffee-making process, from the young seedling to the parchment grading to the drying of the coffee beans.

Our member Heena, will guide you through the process, sharing tips and tricks to ensure your chocolates are nothing short of perfection. Join us for a sweet experience filled with creativity, decadence, and of course, plenty of mouthwatering chocolate!

Every donation, whether it be clothes, toys, food (non-perishable), or funds, can make a monumental difference in their lives, offering not just necessities but a glimmer of hope and the feeling of being cared for. Your contribution can be as small as a packet of ugali flour, a packet of rice, and sugar.
