Working Groups

The Working Groups are the backbone of UNKLESA. Each Working Group is overseen by a Coordinating Board Member who, along with volunteer members, develops and implements projects and events to serve our members. Here is what each group does, in detail:

 

Family & Peer Support

  • Organizes family-focused activities and social gatherings.

  • Assists spouses with relocation-related questions.

Communications & Outreach

  • Designs all public information material.

  • Updates the UNKLESA website and social media pages.

  • Sends out e-newsletters regarding upcoming events, training, job opportunities, and other announcements.

  • Writes and designs all social media content

Training & Development

  • Organizes networking events

  • Circulates information regarding training opportunities and online courses for expatriate spouses.

  • Organizes professional training sessions to help members develop transferable skills and competencies.

Advocacy

  • Advocates on behalf of UNKLESA to other UN and non-UN organizations and promotes collaborations.

  • Introduces UNKLESA to all new UN staff members at the Quarterly New Staff Orientation and the weekly Induction and Security briefing.

  • Designs and delivers advocacy presentations as required.
