Thank you for the successful kick-off to Networking November last Tuesday, 6 November! We discussed:

  • why Networking is important to us

  • what the Networking Mindset is

  • what Effective Networks look like and

  • what our personal Core Professional Networks look like at the moment.

Good News! If you missed it, you can still get involved with Networking November on Friday, on 16 November 2018, 10am.

If you are planning to attend the workshop, it would help if you complete Week 1 of this online course beforehand which is available for free. We will talk about how to build the Network that will help you reach your goals, so it will be very useful to know what your current Network looks like, which is what we did in our previous workshop.

What is the best way to learn?

Now it is time for your Self-Study phase where you take a look at what questions you have about Networking and try to find the answers on Blogs, Lynda, YouTube etc. so that you can tell your Fellow Learners about it in the next Networking November Workshop.

That’s right, the best way to learn is to teach! That’s why I would like YOU to pick a small topic with in the field of Networking and present it to your Fellow Learners in the next workshop. It can be a topic that you’re awesome at already or it can be a topic that you have no clue about yet.

The important thing is that you use your upcoming presentation as motivation to learn all about it and present it in a way that somebody who has never even thought about that topic can take something useful away from it. Presentations need not be longer than five (5) minutes; you may use PowerPoint, but you don’t have to.

In our UNKLESA members' survey this summer, "presentation skills" was the third most requested skills area members wanted to develop.

So here’s your chance, learning by doing!
