Employing Domestic Workers
January 25, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Most expats employ one or more domestic workers. They take care of your garden, drive you from one place to another, cook your meals and/or keep your kids from eating too much dirt. Domestic workers are all around us, but very often hidden behind the walls of our homes. And whether we like it or not, there is an employer – employee relationship.

The domestic workers enjoy protection under Kenyan law, as any other worker. For expats it is not easy to see the forest through the trees when trying to comply with respective legislation.

UNKLESA wants to help you in avoiding liability for failing to comply with the basic legal requirements such as PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, allowences, sick leave, annual paid leave, etc… All this over a steaming hot Kenyan coffee.

We are pleased to let you know that representatives from Kenya Revenue Authority, National Social Security Fund, National Hospital Insurance Fund, and KUDHEIHA, the domestic workers union, will be participating in our discussion on "Employing Domestic Workers."
